How it works
From statement to checked ledger
Upload, check, build your history, export. Here is what happens at each step and how FinScope makes sure the numbers hold up.
The four steps
01
Upload
Drop in bank PDFs, Excel or CSV exports, scans or receipt photos, whether they are from your own accounts or a client's. Choose Personal or Business, and a quick report or a custom one. Files are stored privately.

Check
FinScope reads the opening and closing balances printed on the statement and checks the extracted transactions add up to them. Anything it cannot confirm is flagged for you instead of being passed off as correct.
Balance check- Opening balance (printed)
- $7,268.00
- Total received
- +$8,200.00
- Total outflow
- −$2,988.00
- Closing balance (printed)
- $12,480.00
Balances reconcile. Rows are added to your Library.
03
Build your history
Checked transactions join the running history for that ledger. Next month's statement adds to it and nothing earlier is replaced. Flags show exactly which rows deserve a look.

Explore and export
Use the Dashboard and Library to see what moved, then download an Excel report for your records, your bookkeeper or a client file. Every report is a snapshot, so a new download never overwrites an old one.

What FinScope checks
Four checks before a number counts
These are rules, not guesses. They run on every upload and they are why a flag means something.
Statement detection
FinScope checks that the file is a statement or receipt before it counts anything from it.
Balance reconciliation
Extracted rows must add up to the opening and closing balances the bank printed. If they do not, the document is flagged.
Anomaly flags
Unusually large amounts, low-confidence reads, rows outside the statement period and invalid amounts are marked in the Library.
Duplicate detection
Repeated transactions across overlapping uploads are flagged, and a statement you have already uploaded is caught before it is imported again.
We don’t rewrite your numbers
You can add notes and categories, but amounts, dates and the bank’s original descriptions stay exactly as printed. If FinScope cannot confirm something, it does not present it as confirmed.
Where AI is used
An AI reader turns your document into rows. Checks that do not use AI, balance reconciliation and the anomaly rules, decide whether the numbers hold up, and AI cannot change an amount, date or direction once a row is saved.
When something needs a look
If an upload does not reconcile or a document cannot be read, you see which document and why, in plain language. Open a support case from inside the app, and a person replies. The case tells us which upload and step you were on, so you do not have to explain it twice.
